Description

The intriguing history of Obecní Dvůr in Old Prague dates back to the second half of the 15th century. Surviving the city’s urban reconstruction during the 19th and 20th centuries, Obecní Dvůr is now a vivid testimony to the architectural development of Prague’s city centre over several centuries, combining styles ranging from Renaissance to baroque and neoclassicism.

Over the years, it has served a number of functions, such as housing the king’s fire station. Today, the courtyard complex remains an oasis of privacy in the city’s historical centre, making it ideally suited to family-oriented residences. Obecní Dvůr has once more undergone a transformation, as in the past. A new building has been added, recreating the space to provide all the comforts and necessities of high-quality, state-of-the-art living.

Its micro-perforated metal façades, enhanced with organic shapes, seem to reflect the surrounding vegetation. The metal skin can also extend over the building’s windows. Activity inside the building therefore impacts the building’s silhouette, its façades varying permanently in terms of composition. The luxurious and comfortable Old Town Court residence rises in the very heart of metropolitan Prague. The project features 12 individual residences, each with its own character and charm, onsite underground parking for residents, a private

courtyard surrounded with greenery, full-service reception, and a top-of-the-line security system for the whole complex.
